PET & House-Sitting

Deciding to hire a house sitter to come into your home and take care of your dog and your family of pets tells me one thing. Pets are your family. I understand that some pets just need general care of food, water, and a clean safe home. Keeping proper feeding times are important. Cats can be either/or sometimes. Dogs are different.

My # 1 priority is to maintain the dog's normal routine in the comfort of his or her home. You have chosen this service to get the best care for your dog as you can while you are away. I will work hard to help you feel at ease with plenty of updates and photos.

I have a genuine love for dogs, and it will show when I am caring for yours. I truly enjoy the time I spend and sure hope to have a new friend when all is done.

Does your dog or cat suffer from Separation Anxiety? All do to some degree when you leave them.

Some dogs suffering from separation anxiety become agitated when their guardians prepare to leave. Others seem anxious or depressed prior to their guardians’ departure or when their guardians aren’t present. Some try to prevent their guardians from leaving. Usually, right after a guardian leaves a dog with separation anxiety, the dog will begin barking and displaying other distress behaviors within a short time after being left alone—often within minutes. When the guardian returns home, the dog acts as though it’s been years since he’s seen his mom or dad! 

I can never replace their humans, they will always miss you, but I will work hard to help them forget about you a little.

A new puppy is such a joy to a family. So adorable they sure tug at your heart. I will continue the potty training you have in place. Maintaining routines, you have started is important. Food and water as per your instructions. Most importantly is to burn energy and anxiety. Lots of playtime. Lots of love. 

I understand that I might favor dogs. Does not mean I will not love your kitty. I have cared for and transported many. There have been some that just loved the company. I truly enjoyed them. There have been several I have to look for just to check on them. And of course, there are cats that might be best to just leave alone. Feeding will be on your instructions. Always will maintain a clean litter box and area. Fresh water always available. Play and cuddle time to be determined.

Cats will always be kept indoors during the stay.

Giving care, friendship, playtime, companionship, and love will be my first and only priority while I care for your pets. I will help you to be at ease while you are away. I have owned and cared for many different animals. I have some experience with turtles, lizards, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and aquariums. All your pets will be cared for with your instructions. I love all animals and am always willing to meet and learn about any pet you might have.

In most cases taking care of a senior dog and a special needs dog can be the most rewarding. I am not a Vet or a Vet tech but do have experience with dogs that need extra care. If I feel I am not qualified to take care of your pet, I will be honest enough to tell you and not accept the job.

Feeding

During the stay feeding all your pets will be at their regular feeding times. I am not there to reinvent the wheel. Your pets will be fed exactly how you instruct me to. Treats will be given based on your guidelines. Special diets will be followed, and I have no problem cooking if needed. Fresh water will always be available.

Medication

If a pet needs medicine during a stay I take this very seriously. I have plenty of experience with oral meds, ear drops, and eye drops. I have limited experience on injections. All meds will be given exactly as prescribed and your instructions.

No need to miss any pet appointments while you are away. During my stay I will take them to any appointment they might have. Vets, Groomers, Dog Park, or even a play date.

I take the trust you have in me very seriously from your family members of pets to your property. Staying in your home does offer a little security for your home while you are away. During my stay I will respect your privacy in your home. I will come with my own bedding, food, coffee, and personal care. Home will always be left as I found it when I arrive. I will take care of those little things like mail, packages, and trash. Anything special about your property we will cover during our Meet & Greet.

I like to establish a basic emergency plan with every stay. Pet Vet information is most important. Contact information of emergency contacts. Any special procedures for power outages. Just a few examples. More we have the better.
